Hi, I’m Sharon.

Connecting:

I like unique eyecatching and brain-teasing artworks. I usually tend to create crazy pieces that cause smiles to erupt. And that is when the connection is made.

Mostly, I teeter-totter between the use of a lot of colors, exaggerated features, and quirky pieces, or the type with subdued hues and somber expressions. Either style can catch the eye and make one think. I want my creations to give nudge into different thought pathways, and lend an atmosphere of guard-down, where communication is easy, and connection between others comes naturally and creates a community that is open, accepting, and curious about our continued evolution.

I have been creating and working in ceramics since 2002. My artwork pieces have been exhibited in several art gallery shows and events throughout Kentucky and online. Most of my work is sculptural in nature, but I also create functional pieces, and jewelry. I teach clay hand-building courses at AA Clay Studio in Louisville, KY. I sell most of my works through gallery and online sales, but occasionally have the opportunity to participate in art fairs and festivals. I enjoy meeting my patrons, and fellow artists. I believe art helps us to connect to each other, and to our world around us. I hope my art invites you to connect in a way you otherwise wouldn’t have considered.
